Well, lots of ranting lately. And it doesn't seem it's gonna stop any soon. It never hurts as much as when you open your eyes after a long time in a false dream.

Today, I just wanna talk about those artists who make commissions. Not to criticize the fact they are doing commissions or their prices, business is business. Even if some are hiding more things behind "business" than they should.

Nope, I'll be talking about those almighty artists who think "If you're good at something and you're doing it for free, you're just a whore."

To those people, I'll just wanna say to never ever show their faces to me. And if they use DA to pay their bills, should they fail to, so they understand some little things.

This isn't targeted to one or two artists, but more. Not the first time I read this line, but it was the last one needed for me to burst.

For the other artists, the "humble" ones, I'll just say keep going. Remember than helping a friend for free is never a loss, and that drawing for pleasure is what should be your main goal. Money is nice, money is needed in such time of crisis, but if money is your goal, you're gonna lose your artistic freedom. Which would be quite despicable.

I may be foulish, I may be dumb, but just don't kill yourself for money. That'd make you sillier than me.

So yeah, I'll be claiming out and loud : yes, I'd rather give more money to a medium progressing artist than a professional regressing one, yes, I'd rather cheer for quality over quantity, yes, I'm for artists who aren't bound to their fandom community.

I'm proud for pointing out when artists are going the wrong way in my opinion. And I'm really, really disappointed by Jollyjack's reaction. Well, it was too good to be true.

Blacklisting someone trying to have discussion isn't the best solution. And for those number-lovers out there, one rule in market is : 1 happy customer = 3 possible customers, 1 angry customer = 10 people with a bad impression. So artists, be strong, but also humble : one to protect yourself, the other to keep improving.
